Hubbard Architectural Metalwork, usually known as ‘Hubbards’, is a leading designer and constructor of high-quality architectural metalwork, including staircases, bridges, balconies, balustrades and escape/access stairs. The company’s products are used in offices, schools, public buildings, retail spaces and residential developments.
Based in Norwich, Hubbards has been trading for six decades, and has been family owned and managed for three generations of the Hubbard family. All products are manufactured at the firm’s own premises in Norwich. The company is certified under ISO 9001.
Hubbards’ relationship with Onyx dates back to early 2003, when the company purchased the Access Horizons accounting package. Onyx’s recent work for Hubbards has fallen into two distinct but related phases: an upgrade of the firm’s accounting software and a thorough review and overhaul of its IT infrastructure.
Late in 2008, Onyx invited Miles Watson, Hubbards’ Commercial Assistant/IT Manager, to review Dimensions, along with the latest release of the Onyx Construction Industry Suite including the newly developed Contract Intelligence module. Following liaison with Miles over the following months, Onyx undertook a detailed business analysis before preparing and delivering a demonstration in March 2009 proposing an upgrade to Access Dimensions Lite. Soon afterwards, Miles involved Hubbards’ directors and company secretary, who quickly saw the major benefits offered by the upgrade.
