Raepak is a distributor of high-quality packaging components such as bottles, sprays, lotion pumps and closures for the personal care, cosmetics and pharmaceutical industries.“There are two sides to our company: plastic bottles, distributed under the Raepak brand, and pumps for bottles, which are distributed under the name Sherpa,” says Managing Director designate Andrew Paterson. “Our plastic bottles are all sourced from the UK, while our pumps are sourced from overseas.”
Many of our key clients are household brand names, producing goods destined for the leading supermarkets and high-street stores. “Our customers range from niche companies who might only want one box of bottles right up to major clients who use 1,000,000+ pumps a year. We also provide drawdown arrangements for manufacturers who want to buy in bulk but use the stock gradually.”
Raepak is based in Wymondham, Norfolk, and currently employs 10 people.
Raepak approached Onyx when the need to renew its infrastructure – and supplier partnership – became clear. “Our computer equipment was getting a bit dated,” says Andrew. “As a safeguard against disaster, I was taking a virtual backup of our data. For whatever reason, our incumbent IT provider didn’t like that, and advised us that we needed to find a new supplier. To be honest, although they were doing a good job in many ways, the relationship was too distant. We needed more of a partnership. So we decided to look at the support side too, as well as buying new equipment.”
